What do YOU want?

Today I was asked "What do you teach?"

And you know - that's a hard question to answer! The first thing that popped into my head was - I'm a mom, I teach everything!

But, I don't think that's what she was asking. :)

It's so telling what those first thoughts are that pop into your head. They tell you so much about how you see yourself, how think about yourself, and how important you are to you.

I'm mom first. I have been a mom for more years of my life than I haven't been at this point. (My oldest son is almost 21!)

8.5 years ago, when my 3rd son was born, I quit working full time. And I learned a lot about myself in that time.

A month ago, my youngest child, my only girl, went to school - all day kindergarten. Let me tell you, I looked forward to that day ALLLLLL YEEEAAAAR. (She's a handful, busy-body, nonstop chatterbox, strong-willed girl. Not at all like me....just kidding. She's EXACTLY like me!)

Even though I have been working from home this whole time, I went through a HUGE adjustment when it was just me all day! Boy, freedom!

Now I find that I often stay gone, where before I was only staying home, because it's so much easier to NOT load up kids into the car. Oh, the poor doggies miss me.

But this freedom has brought so much clarity into my business, my life, and myself. I know what I want.

I know where I want to be, what I want to be doing, and what I want to achieve.

I've been missing that, allowing myself to be distracted all day with kid-things.

So, my challenge to you this afternoon/evening is - GO DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT. YOU, not the kids. Not the husband. Not your colleagues. Go take some quiet time, and write it down (so you don't forget it in 5 minutes!).

What comes up for you? Share it here.
