When should you even set your goals?
It’s eclipse day here today. There’s been a lot of chatter online about making sure you set your powerful intentions for this rare astrological event. But what if you don’t? Have you missed your chance to manifest what you want for your life?
No. I truly don’t believe that you’ll have missed your chance to set your best goals and intentions. So if that’s true, and this isn’t the only time, when should you set them?
My answer: set them whenever you want! One of the most powerful strategies you can use to accomplish your goals is to decide each morning what your top three actions are. Those three actions should support your goals, long, short, or mid-term goals. (Of course, your long and short-range goals should be aligned.) If you’re not a morning person, set your daily intentions the night before.
Let me share a secret with you: I haven’t always been great at accomplishing goals. I knew what a SMART goal was, and I knew HOW to set them. I just didn’t apply what I already knew. In fact, I avoided setting them ‘officially’ for many years, because I was afraid to fail. I would think about a general idea of what I wanted, but I never actually set the goal. And you know what? Business grows SO S.L.O.W.L.Y. when you don’t decide what you really do want.
Because I wasn’t writing goals down and setting my true intentions, I wasted a lot of years. I wasted a lot of money. I wasted a lot of energy doing a lot of things that weren’t lining up to make a big impact in my business.
This year is different. I finally decided to decide. When I did that, and started creating and using SMART goals, I realized there’s a better way. There’s a HUGE piece missing in SMART, reflection. Now, I use DIAMOND Goals. It’s made a giant difference in my goal success rate. And, you can set DIAMOND goals any time you want. No waiting for an eclipse, a New Moon, the first of the month, or Monday. Take action. Set your goal today, and make it happen.
